2018 has come + gone and We are setting our sights on accomplishing goals for 2019.
Read what our team is looking forward to in the New Year!
JORDAN - Director of Travel Operations
"While I try to make sure that January first is not the only time I set goals, a resolution is a fun way to enter a new year. My most recent set of goals revolve around trying to keep me centered and in the moment. Especially over the holidays, I think it is important to enjoy what is happening right here and right now. I know that for me, the best way to stay centered is to focus on a specific task or hobby. This year I am aiming to pick up an old hobby that comes easily to me (drawing!), and to try a new hobby with which I struggle (cooking!). Wish me luck in #embracing the unknown - and let me know if you want to test any of my recipes!"
LAUREN - TRAVEL OPERATIONS MANAGER
“I have several new year's resolutions but I think the closest one I have to #EmbracingTheUnknown is my resolution to shake up how I consume things. I'm going to focus on spending time with the people I care about and limit the amount of new items I buy. Instead, I'll share experiences and make do with pre-owned items. I'm going to try to limit myself to purchasing just 6 new things in 2019, excluding consumables and necessities (i.e. replacing all the bobby pins I lose, but still need.)”
CORINNE - Marketing Manager
“For most of my life, I feel like I was always just trying to survive the next few months of school so that I could get to the next semester. In 2018, I graduated with my Masters + was finally able to take a breath. In 2019, I am excited to #EmbraceTheUnknown of who I am without the stress of school. I am looking forward to pushing my comfort levels by running in my first marathon, planning my first international trip on my own, and trying some different kinds of things in the kitchen.”
RACHEL - TRAVEL OPERATIONS MANAGER
“In 2019, I'm committed to making more time to travel with friends. My friends and I are lucky to live all over the world to do the work that we love, but staying in touch across time zones is challenging. Traveling with one another is an incredible way to stay connected and explore! This photo was taken in Chile on a trip I took with two of my best friends, on a day that stands out as one of my favorite in the past several years. We've planned trips together every year since, and our relationship has grown with each new adventure!”
LILLY - CEO + FOUNDER
“In 2019, I resolve to #EmbraceTheUnknown by visiting at least 5 states I haven't yet visited.
So far, I've been to 25/50 states, and I'm eager to push myself to visit new places and explore cities that I've heard amazing things about - and where we send our Pack Up + Go travelers! Some cities at the top of my list?
Santa Fe, NM
Who knows! Maybe I'll have to sign up for a Pack Up + Go trip myself!
What are your favorite cities that you think I should explore? Send us a note to let me know!”
ZACHARY - TRAVEL OPERATIONS MANAGER
“As I look back on 2018, I realize that I did not travel as much as I would have liked, but this is okay because I embraced many changes throughout the year. In 2019, I am resolved to embrace the unknown. To do this, I am going to seek to visit 5 cities in the US that I have yet to see. In addition, I hope to have the opportunity to visit at least 1, if not more, foreign countries, as there is no better way to embrace the unknown than to visit unexplored destinations. Along the way, I will document my travels by posting regularly on Instagram, so if you want to keep up, follow me @zest86.”
JENNIFER - TRAVEL OPERATIONS MANAGER
“I will #EmbraceTheUnknown in 2019 by learning to ski! I'm quite clumsy and accident prone but I feel like it's a great skill to have for vacationing and living in the cold + snow!”
