Testimonial Tuesday: Denise + Donna

Q: Why did you sign up for your trip? What were you looking to get out of it?

A: As a birthday gift for a dear friend.  I was looking to provide a joyful and dedicated friend experience.

Q: Did you have hesitations about taking a surprise trip? Were you nervous?

A: No hesitation at all.  Giving up control and the associated mystery/intrigue was one of the best parts of the experience.

Q: Where did you guess you were going to travel? Were you surprised by the destination?

A: We took bets on Austin, TX, possibly Nashville, TN + also Charleston, SC which was the final destination.  Our assumptions were based on some of the experiences featured on your website.

Q: Upon discovery of your destination, what were some perceptions about your city prior to the trip?

A: Charming, walkable, historic.

Q: What made the trip feel unique and tailored to you?

A: The charming hotel and the great corner room, which flooded with sunlight, as well as the surprise birthday celebration Prosecco that room service delivered. The charming historic neighborhoods that we walked through. Great restaurants, cafes and cocktail establishments - found while touring the city and those recommended in the great itineraries you provided.

Q: What did you like most about your travel accommodations?

A: The flights were well planned to ensure that we made our connection comfortably so as not to feel rushed.

Q: What was your favorite experience that we recommended for you?

A: The walking tours and the recommended stops along the way.

Q: If you could do the trip over again what would you do differently?

A: Simply mentally prepare for the heat.  It was very very hot and humid.

Q: What did you discover on your own (not on your itinerary) in your destination that you feel is shareworthy?

A: Gaulart and Malicet Cafe Restaurant, 98 Broad Street, Charleston.  Charming, interesting and a great little spot for some wine and charcuterie.

Q: What was your favorite part of your trip?

A: Spending quality time with a dear friend.

Q: What did you learn on your trip, or from your trip?

A: I learned about Charleston.  What makes it special now - and the cities history.  I am also now able to recommend it as a destination to others.  I would love to go back someday - in the Fall when it is not so hot.
I also learned that it is easy to get to by air from Pittsburgh.  I usually shy away from flights that are not non-stop, which doesn’t leave many options.  This taught me that I shouldn’t limit myself.

Q: How would you describe Pack Up + Go and your experience to your friends and family?

A: Really great - it is unbelievable how many people before the trip and during the trip were intrigued by our experience.  It was so great having someone do all of the planning for us.  Using this service again is a no-brainer for me - everything went so smoothly.

Q: What would you say to someone who is hesitant to go on a surprise getaway

A: I remember as a child the first plane flight I ever took and how the excitement about this made the flights an integral part of the overall experience. The “surprise” aspect of this Pack Up + Go trip similarly became an integral part of the overall experience.  The suspense, surprise, and discovery of someplace new.  Loved it!

Testimonial Tuesday: Leslie + Daniel

Q: Why did you sign up for your trip? What were you looking to get out of it?

A: A mini-honeymoon- my husband is in the military so we wanted a trip where we didn’t have to stress over the planning.

Q: Did you have hesitations about taking a surprise trip? Were you nervous?

A:   Not at all! Worst case scenario, if we didn’t like the recommendations, then we could find our own adventures! (But that wasn’t the case!!)

Q: Where did you guess you were going to travel? Were you surprised by the destination?

A: We guessed somewhere south since it was described to have a “charm”. Therefore, we weren’t 100% surprised by our destination (Charleston, SC), but we were 100% excited!

Q: Upon discovery of your destination, what were some perceptions about your city prior to the trip?

A:   Filled with Southern Charm, history, and comfort food!

Q: What made the trip feel unique and tailored to you?

A: I have a gluten intolerance, so the food recommendations made it so much more convenient to be comfortable where we were eating!

Q: What did you like most about your travel accommodations?

A: We LOVED the hotel room! Amazing service and amenities.

Q: What was your favorite experience that we recommended for you?

A: Sullivan Beach!

Q: If you could do the trip over again what would you do differently?

A: Go to Fort Sumter!

Q: What did you discover on your own (not on your itinerary) in your destination that you feel is shareworthy?

A: Jeni’s ice cream. TO DIE FOR!

Q: What was your favorite part of your trip?

A: Not having to plan a single thing and having an amazing experience when we got to our final destination. The amount of detail Pack Up + Go put into our trip didn’t go unnoticed!

Q: What did you learn on your trip, or from your trip?

A: We learned about the history of Charleston and our country. We also learned, that one more day would have been the perfect amount of time for a trip.

Q: How would you describe Pack Up + Go and your experience to your friends and family?

A: Amazing! So many options were provided for us on how to spend our travels. They were very professional in emails and keeping in touch!

Q: What would you say to someone who is hesitant to go on a surprise getaway

A: The best way to try something new! You get to travel, try somewhere new, and get to be surprised!
