Pack Up + Go showcases recent trips + travelers with our Testimonial Tuesday feature.
In the third of our “Meet the Team” Testimonial Tuesday features, we introduce you to Pack Up + Go’s fearless leader, trip planner, crisis handler and face of the operation!
Q: What is your name?
A: Lillian Rafson
Q: What do you do for Pack Up + Go?
A: Founder + CEO
Q: What is your favorite aspect of traveling?
A: Food! I wouldn’t necessarily describe myself as a foodie, but I love trying local food + drinks. Street food is my favorite, but I do also love treating myself to a nicer meal out. I love talking to people and getting to know locals while wandering around without set plans. My motto in life is “Yes, And” and I love applying that mindset to my travels.
Q: Favorite place you have ever visited in the US?
A: That’s a tough one! It’d be hard for me to pick. Cape May, NJ holds a special place in my heart since my family has gone every year since I was born. But I really love New Orleans, Savannah, Seattle, Portland, ME…that doesn’t really narrow it down. I tend to find something I love in every place I visit!
Q: What sense (sight, smell, etc.) do you value most while traveling?
A: Taste - again, I love to eat….and then walk around a lot so I can eat more.
Q: Do you prefer vacations that involve the outdoors, are city oriented, or a little bit of both?
A: A little bit of both! I definitely prefer cities that are pedestrian-friendly, but I also don’t mind covering a lot of ground. Since I sit at a desk all day, it’s so nice to be able to go for a hike or get out into nature, as well.
Q: What is your favorite ’90s jam?
A: Please don’t ask me to choose between Britney, Christina, TLC or Spice Girls.
Q: If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring?
A: Sunscreen, a bottle of wine, and a good book.
Q: Favorite food category?
A: Ramen! (Does that count?)
Q: What is the title of your biography?
A: Yes, And
