How Pack Up + Go Plans Safe Solo Travel Experiences Across the U.S.

At Pack Up + Go, we love planning solo trips. Sometimes, taking a trip by yourself is the most freeing way to travel. You get to move at your own pace, follow your curiosity, and make decisions based entirely on what you want. That said, solo travel also comes with a unique set of questions and considerations: Is this destination safe for someone traveling alone? Will it be easy to get around without a companion? Will restaurants and activities feel comfortable as a party of one?

That’s where we come in. Our travel planners go the extra mile to make sure every solo vacation is thoughtfully designed with those questions in mind—so you can focus on enjoying the adventure, not stressing about the logistics. Here’s how we take extra care when planning trips for solo travelers.

24/7 Traveler Support

One of the biggest differences between traveling solo on your own and traveling solo with Pack Up + Go is knowing that help is always available. Our travelers have access to 24/7 support while they’re on their trip, so you’re never left figuring things out alone.

Whether it’s a flight delay, a question about your itinerary, or a last-minute change, our team is just a text or call away. That peace of mind can make all the difference, especially when you’re traveling solo.

Thoughtful Destination Selection

Not every destination is a great fit for solo travel, and we’re very intentional about where we send our solo travelers. When selecting destinations, we consider factors like overall safety, ease of navigation, walkability, and access to transportation.

We also think about the vibe of a destination. Some places naturally lend themselves to solo travel - friendly locals, lively (but not overwhelming!) downtowns, and plenty of opportunities to explore without feeling isolated. Our goal is to choose destinations where solo travelers can feel comfortable, confident, and excited to explore.

Hotel Choices

We want your hotel to be a great place to end your day, but also a place that feels welcoming and comfortable. Our team looks for accommodations with features like staffed 24/7 front desks and convenient proximity to dining and attractions.

We prioritize centrally located, well-reviewed hotels that are known for being safe, comfortable, and welcoming.

Activities That Don’t Feel Awkward Solo

Our travel planners spend a lot of time thinking about whether a restaurant feels comfortable for solo dining. We also think about which activities would be enjoyable as a party of one, and which ones might allow you to meet other travelers without feeling awkward or forced. Sometimes a food tour or a walking tour is a great way to chat with other travelers without having to spend too much time with strangers.

But, we also know that no two solo travelers are alike, which is why your trip is always specifically planned with you in mind!

Thoughtful Routes and Logistics

Transportation can be one of the most stressful parts of solo travel, which is why we pay close attention to routes and logistics. If you’re flying, we always try for direct flights and flight times that won’t leave you navigating a new place late at night or too early in the morning.

If you’re driving, we’ll find a destination that will keep you on major roads to avoid any hiccups on your travel days.

Nearly 10% of Pack Up + Go trips are for solo travelers, and we’re proud to coordinate vacations that are planned specifically with your needs in mind. Have questions about whether a solo trip is right for you? Our traveler support team is available 24/7!
