Latine Heritage Month 2023 - Pack Up + Go Employee Faves

Happy Latine Heritage Month!

This is a time to celebrate the vibrant and diverse cultural contributions of Latine communities to our society. To kick it off, we gathered a handful of our team members’ favorite Latine-owned businesses to share. Please take time to patronize our recommendations or your local Latine-owned businesses!

What Is Your Favorite Latine-Owned Business?

Cristina Robertson, Social Media Specialist | Chicago, IL

Brew Brew Coffee & Tea, Avondale in Chicago. Brew Brew Coffee & Tea has a great selection of drinks + delicious treats! It's a cute area to work, hangout with friends, and just enjoy a good vibe while enjoying your morning coffee!” - Cristina Robertson, she/her

Cara Berrigan, Marketing Partnerships Manager | Ormond Beach, FL

Lolita's - located in Richmond, VA. Aside from the fact that they have great food and incredible cocktails, I really enjoy the cultural pride and family heritage that Lolita's highlights as part of their business.” - Cara Berrigan, she/her

Jess Sitler, Digital Marketing Manager | Pittsburgh, PA

“Hands down my favorite is Gaucho Parrilla Argentina, more familiarly known as Gaucho. Located in my current city of Pittsburgh, it was one of the first restaurants I visited with my now husband's family during a trip to the burgh. I have eaten at several restaurants in Pittsburgh since living here for 5 years, and Gaucho is still the best meal I've had in the city. The traditional Argentinian flavors, the atmosphere of the location, and the good vibes of the staff make for an incredible experience. The choripan is to die for, and I could eat about 20 pieces of the toast dipped in the array of chimichurri sauces.” - Jess Sitler, she/her

Corinne Hogge, Director of Marketing | Chicago, IL

Irazu Costa Rican Restaurant - Chicago, IL. Irazu takes pride in serving up a menu + interior that's a reflection of Costa Rican culinary traditions. Whether you're trying out their mouthwatering casados (the national dish of Costa Rica), delectable empanadas (you can get a sampler of all 7 different kinds - I highly recommend), or a pepito (Chicago's "favorite Latin sandwich”) - and it's BYOB!” - Corinne Hogge, she/her

Katie Gruezke, Partner Relationships Manager | Jersey City, NJ

Mint to Be Mojito Bar in Savannah, GA. We visited on our most recent Team Retreat as part of a food tour, and got to hear about Mary's background and try the amazing mojitos! Mary is originally from Lima, Peru and she wanted to bring Latin cuisine + drinks to people who really only ever thought of Mexican food when they heard Latin cuisine. The mojito was the best I've ever had and was so fresh. The empanadas were fantastic, too!” - Katie Gruezke, she/her
