Celebrating 35 Years of the ADA: Making Travel More Inclusive for All
July 26th marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a law that has helped make the United States more accessible for all.
At Pack Up + Go, we believe that travel should be joyful, stress-free, and accessible for everyone. Whether you need physical, visual, or audio accommodations, our team is proud to help make your dream vacation a reality. Since our founding, we’ve been committed to ensuring that travelers of all abilities can experience the magic of a surprise trip!
How Do Accessible Trips Work With Pack Up + Go?
Because accessibility is not one-size-fits-all, our planning process starts with understanding each traveler’s specific needs. If you indicate that you need any accessible accommodations, our team will reach out and follow up to make sure we fully understand how to plan the perfect trip for you. The more we know, the better we can plan a trip that works seamlessly for you.
Once we understand your needs, we get to work — we reach out directly to hotels, airlines, and activity providers on your behalf to ensure every aspect of your trip is as smooth as possible. We confirm that hotel rooms are fully accessible, we call restaurants to make sure their entrances and restrooms are ADA-compliant, and double-check that any activities we book and recommend are fully inclusive. We also go the extra mile when it comes to the businesses we recommend. For every small business we include in a trip’s recommendations, we personally reach out to ask detailed questions about their accessibility. Our goal is to remove the stress of planning so you can focus on the fun parts of your trip.
Everyone deserves a great vacation!
The ADA was a monumental step forward, but we know that accessibility requires constant attention, action, and advocacy. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re proud to continue doing our part to make travel more inclusive for all and help everyone who’s interested in a surprise Pack Up + Go!
Here's to 35 years of progress, and to many more adventures that everyone can enjoy!
