Pack Up + Go Outdoors: Your Accommodation Guide

New to the outdoorsy life? No problem!

We’re here to be your guide on this adventure.

Let’s start off with this: For your Pack Up + Go Outdoors Road Trip, we won’t send you to the middle of nowhere with only a sleeping bag! You will still enjoy the classic Pack Up + Go getaway experience, just surrounded by nature. Based on the preferences you list on your Pre-Trip Survey and availability in the destination chosen for you, you will stay in an accommodation such as a glamping-style tent/yurt, cabin, bed & breakfast, inn, lodge, or boutique hotel.

What exactly is the difference between these options?

We’re glad you asked!

Camping, but better.

Glamping - (Think: more glamorous, less camp-orous)

Generally speaking, glamping accommodations are an elevated camping experience that includes a durable tent on a permanent platform. Since glamping accommodations tend to be more outdoorsy, they are only available on a seasonal basis in parts of the country that experience freezing winter temperatures!

They are focused on comfort and include a bed, and some have climate control, cooking/kitchen facilities, and other amenities in the tent. Glamping accommodations sometimes have in-tent bathrooms with running water, and sometimes have separate bathrooms nearby.

Because glamping accommodations vary greatly on location and management, it’s hard to give an exact description of what will be included. No need to worry! In the email you receive one week prior to departure, we will tell you exactly what you need to bring with you. Glamping accommodations are perfect for those more experienced in traditional camping, or those who want to fully embrace the outdoor aspect of this Trip Type!

Cabin - (The classic)

For Pack Up + Go Outdoors Trips, cabin accommodations may be a tiny house or a more traditional cabin.

It will include a bed, running water, a private bathroom, cooking equipment, and a kitchen or way to prepare food, and may include climate control and other amenities. We also love unique ‘cabins,’ like converted Airstreams or tree houses!

One of our favorite tree house partners is Starlight Haven, located outside of Hot Springs, AR, it is a unique treehouse accommodation that will help you feel like a kid again! Whether you are enjoying an outdoor family vacation or a remote, romantic getaway, Starlight Haven is the perfect place to take an Arkansas outdoor vacation.

Bed + Breakfast, Inn, Boutique Hotel, or Lodge - (Tried + true)

Cozy vibes? Check!

Many outdoorsy destinations have great bed + breakfasts or inns.

These accommodations have a private bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, but likely do not include your own personal kitchen facilities (hence, the ‘breakfast’ part)!

Oftentimes, the perfect place for you to stay in the destination the Pack Up + Go Travel Planner has selected is a lodge or a boutique hotel. Your curated recommendations will still be heavily focused on outdoor experiences, but your accommodations will be a bit more reminiscent of traditional Pack Up + Go accommodations. This means you may not be roasting s’mores around your very own campfire, but you will still get to experience all of the benefits and beauty of the great outdoors!

Great Outdoors Vacations:

For Pack Up + Go Outdoors trips, you will not be camping in the traditional sense!

You will not be required to bring your own tent or sleeping equipment, but if you select a glamping or cabin accommodation option you may be required to bring your own linens, snacks, or kitchen supplies.

If you have specific requests for your accommodation type, please let us know on the Prerip Survey and our team is happy to find the perfect place for you to stay. As always, we encourage all of our travelers to keep an open mind!
