Top Cities to Visit for Pride This Year
Since June 1970, the LGBTQ+ community has come together every June to celebrate their pride and commemorate the efforts of the pioneers of the movement.
Cities across the United States from small towns to sprawling metropolises take part in the festivities hosting parades, concerts, markets, and more. This is a perfect time to explore a new city and immerse yourself in the local culture and traditions. We put together a non-exhaustive list of some of our favorite destinations to visit for Pride to get your ideas rolling for this year.
Washington, DC (June 6-8)
2025 marks 50 years of Pride celebrations in our nation’s capital, and they’re going all out for the celebrations this year! The weekend of June 6-8 will be filled with a full-on music festival, a show-stopping parade, and tons of events celebrating love and equality throughout the city all weekend.
Boston, MA (June 14)
Boston Pride is a truly huge deal; last year, over one million people attended the festivities making it the region’s largest LGBTQ+ event! The annual Boston Pride events are among the most dynamic in New England, featuring a lively parade, a bustling festival, and inclusive activities tailored for all ages. The city boasts a wide array of LGBTQ+-owned businesses and restaurants that will keep your visit jam-packed with activity while supporting the local queer community. The festivities will take place on June 14, 2025, and you won’t want to miss it!
Chicago, IL (June 21-22)
The Windy City is a classic Pride destination with an incredible two-day festival that includes live music across three stages, local artists and vendors, drag performers, and more. The festival is scheduled for June 21-22, 2025, and the month will close out with the city’s iconic Pride Parade on Sunday, June 29, 2025. The Parade crosses several neighborhoods, and is an incredible event for locals and visitors alike to enjoy!
Denver, CO (June 28-29)
Since 1974, Denver’s Pride celebration has brought the community together by commemorating love, joy, and unity. This year, the city’s Pride events will include a festival, 5k race, and a parade. Between the two days of the festival on June 28, 2025 and June 29, 2025, the city expects over 500,000 visitors to enjoy the food vendors, live performances, and general merriment! The event will then culminate with a parade that draws over 120,000 spectators annually. If you’re in town, you won’t want to miss it!
San Francisco, CA (June 28-29)
There are few cities so rich with LGBTQ+ history than San Francisco. Often considered the heart of the movement, San Francisco was home to pivotal moments in the fight for equality, making it a place of immense cultural and historical significance. This year marks the 55th annual Pride Festival, and the city is going big to celebrate! The weekend of June 28, 2025 - June 29, 2025 will be full of incredible events for visitors of all ages, culminating with a parade on June 29th!
