Pack Up + Go launched Staycations in March 2020 to give travelers an opportunity to explore their nearby cities in a new way. With travelers hesitant to take long-distance trips during that time, Staycations offered the perfect solution for those who craved a vacation without venturing too far from home.
By focusing on nearby destinations, travelers could still enjoy a break from their day-to-day while minimizing exposure to travel risks. It also enabled Pack Up + Go and our travelers to continue to support small businesses + local economies when many businesses were struggling due to the pandemic's economic impact.
Staycations enabled us to grow our family of Trip Types, stay connected with our travelers, and continue to foster a sense of wanderlust and adventure during a time when the world was seeking safe and accessible travel options!

With a You Pick Trip, you’ll still be in control of the destination, but now we encourage you to explore further than your home city! We have dozens of cities across the US for you to choose from. Decide your destination, get yourself there, and then we’ll plan the rest, including pre-paid accommodations, dinner reservations, and at least one activity or gift card.
