Since 1999, Fat Tire Tours has been offering customers fantastic private + personal experiences through limited group size, unparalleled touring knowledge, and outstanding reputation.   • What is your name?

    • John Voci, Global Product Manager + Directory of U.S. Operations at Fat Tire Tours

  • Where is your business located?

    • Twelve cities across the US + Europe and counting!

  • What inspired you to start the business?

    • Fat Tire Tours began in 1999 with the idea of bridging the gap between English speaking travelers and the city of Paris by bicycle. Since then, we have grown to offer walking tours, bike tours, Segway tours, food tours, and attraction tours in some of the world's best destinations with the idea of bringing people closer to the city than a bus ever could.
       

  • What about your business are you most proud of?

    • We are most proud of the continued commitment to customer service we've had over the years. We're all tour guides at heart and we know that traveling can be a stressful, but rewarding experience for our guests. We work hard to be the best part of our guest's trip and to provide an unforgettable look at our cities. We've been doing it since 1999 and our owner David was the only tour guide with just one or two people on tour, and we're doing it today with even more tours and destinations than ever before. Our groups are still small (this time, by design!) and our tour guides are still fun + informative. We're proud to be continuing that tradition as we grow!

  • What do you enjoy most about running your business?

    • We cherish having an opportunity + responsibility of providing unforgettable experiences through superior customer service. We love that when we do a good job, our tours are directly tied to our guests' travel memories.

  • What challenges have you faced as a business owner?

    • There are too many to list! It's a tough job managing all the moving pieces of a tour company, but each hurdle provides an opportunity to do something excellent!

  • What do you think makes your business unique?

    • Fat Tire Tours' commitment to excellence + customer service is what makes us unique. If there's an opportunity to work harder to provide a better product, we're going to do our best to capitalize on it. We feel that we hire the best tour guides + build the best travel experiences!

  • If you had to describe the business in 3 words, what would they be?

    • Fun, Excellent + Memorable

The Fun Stuff

  • What is your favorite spot in the U.S to travel to and why?

    • There's no way we could name just one! We love the history of Washington, DC, the charm of New Orleans, the amazing architecture of Chicago, and the variety of San Francisco to name a few!

  • Which of the five senses do you appreciate the most when you travel and why?

    • For me personally, I would choose sight. Even though you have expectations that come with travel, sometimes it's just seeing yourself in a new place, or seeing a new place for yourself that brings all of the excitement to life!
