Terms + Conditions - Overview
First, let’s review how Pack Up + Go works, what we offer, and what we do not offer.
HOW IT WORKS
You tell us your budget and about your travel preferences, and then we book your 3-day weekend based upon this information.
We send customers to mid-sized cities in the United States .Destinations will be approximately 3-4 hours away from your departure city. Destinations will have public transportation and plenty of resources and activities to keep you busy for the three days.
Though we do not book any activities for you, we provide a curated map of recommendations based upon your preferences.
WE SEND YOU:
- An envelope in the mail one week before you depart. Resist the urge - don’t open it until the day you depart! This envelope contains information about your destination, directions to your accommodation (hotel, bed & breakfast, Airbnb), additional useful information, including transportation maps, history of the city, etc.
- An email one week before you depart, detailing the weather forecast for your mystery destination, whether you should pack anything specific, and any luggage restrictions. It will also tell you where to go and when for your departure (i.e. Grand Central Station @ 5:30PM)
- Another email the day you depart, including your boarding passes/tickets, and your city guide + map of curated recommendations
WE OFFER TWO TRIPS:
- 3-Day Weekend Getaway
- Travel reservation
- We book 3 types of transportation for the Weekend Getaways (not including Roadtrips):
- Airplane (Southwest, Jetblue, American Airlines, United Airlines, Spirit, Frontier Airlines, etc.)
- Train (Amtrak)
- Bus (Megabus, Bolt Bus, etc. - We won’t book a sketchy bus company, we promise!)
- We book 3 types of transportation for the Weekend Getaways (not including Roadtrips):
- Accommodation reservation
- Curated map of recommendations + itineraries (based upon your survey responses)
- Travel reservation
- 3-Day Weekend Roadtrip - Travel reservation NOT included
- Accommodation reservation
- Curated map of recommendations (based upon your survey responses)
- Roadside attractions to check out along the drive
- *You MUST provide your own vehicle and gas
- *You MUST be a licensed driver with auto insurance
- We book 3 types of accommodations:
- Hotel (We do our best to book independently owned + operated accommodations, but you may stay in a chain - Starwood, etc.)
- Bed + Breakfast
- Sometimes, Airbnb is the best way to accommodate large groups traveling together.
- We will reach out to you specifically before reserving an Airbnb, since we’ll need you to agree to their terms + conditions, as well.
- We book 3 types of accommodations:
*Smoking is NOT permitted in our accommodations, and may result in fines or expulsions from your accommodation!
WE DO NOT:
- Book or pay for any of your activities (we just give you recommendations!)
- Pay for your food or dining
- Provide tour guides
You pay for your trip directly through www.packupgo.com when you are checking out.
We use Stripe to process all payments, and issue any refunds (when applicable, keep reading!)
Stripe and Pack Up + Go both guarantee that your payment and personal information are safe and protected.
We’re sure your pets are insanely cute, but you can’t bring them with you on this trip. No pets allowed, sorry.
Terms + Conditions
The purchase of any travel services offered by Pack Up + Go LLC (hereinafter "Pack Up + Go") constitutes a contractual arrangement between The Client (all travelers on the trip, hereinafter as “client”) and Pack Up + Go, and represents the client’s acceptance of the Pack Up + Go Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that the client reads carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking. Acceptance of these terms and conditions is a condition of booking and is the client’s acknowledgement that they have read, understood and agreed to be bound by them.
When the client books their trip, they accept the terms of these booking conditions on behalf of the entire party. It is the client’s sole responsibility to ensure that all of the details on the confirmations are correct.
Pack Up + Go chooses where you go based on your budget, preferences, and travel dates. Have an open mind, get ready to explore, and we’re sure you’ll love where you end up!
By agreeing to these Terms + Conditions, you give Pack Up + Go permission to select the destination for your trip. As such, Pack Up + Go cannot be held liable if you are unhappy with your destination, and we will not offer refunds under these circumstances. We select your destination city based upon your survey responses, budget, and available tickets and accommodations given your travel dates. By paying for our services, you agree to relinquish control over your destination.
Please, please make sure your name matches your ID! We charge $100 to change your name on your ticket.
All passenger details must exactly match your government issued ID (Passport, State ID, or Driver’s License). Your booking will be made under this name and changes to name details are not allowed by many airlines and other service providers. While we will do our best to make such a change if necessary, please bear in mind that most airlines and other service providers treat a name change as a cancellation, to which standard conditions and charges apply. If you enter the incorrect name and the airline, bus, train, or hotel will accept the change, the Pack Up + Go fee for correcting your error will be $100. If you are planning on changing your name, please contact Pack Up + Go as soon as possible.
Need to change your travel dates/times? We’ll do our best, but we can’t make any promises. Give us a call as soon as possible if something comes up, but keep in mind - it’s a $100 change fee.
Changes are subject to availability. If changes are allowed, a change fee of $100 will apply. If you have a change in plans, if you can no longer depart at the intended time as originally stated, or if you plan not to take a flight, bus, or train as booked, please contact Pack Up + Go as soon as possible to discuss your options, as we cannot guarantee a refund or rebooking. Trips can be booked up to one week prior to departure.
Day of Travel
We’ll tell you exactly when and where you need to be to catch your flight, bus, or train. PLEASE don’t be late. If you have any questions about your reservation, give us a call!
We’ll give you as much information as possible without ruining the surprise.
Failure to check-in for your flight, bus, or train at the appropriate time may result in the airline denying you boarding and Pack Up + Go may not grant a refund. Check-in times vary by carrier/airport, and one week prior to departure, Pack Up + Go will advise the best time to arrive and check in for your travel, according to your departure time and mode of transportation. Should you have any questions regarding this timing or process, contact Pack Up + Go as soon as possible.
If you miss your travel, there’s not much we can do. We’ll give you all the information you need to get there with plenty of time, and it’s up to you to get there.
If you fail to check in on time for a confirmed reservation, the airline, bus, or train carrier may register you as a “no-show,” which could result in extra charges and/or your whole travel itinerary being cancelled and/or render your ticket void. Pack Up + Go is not responsible for missed travel as a result of customer error.
If you need to cancel your trip, call us ASAP! We can’t promise you’ll get your money back, because that depends on the transportation + accommodation companies, but we’ll do our best for you.
Cancelled bookings will not be fully refunded. Refunds are subject to the transportation and accommodation providers through which your reservations are made. You may forfeit 100% of the cost of the booking. If your plans change for any reason, please contact Pack Up + Go at your earliest convenience. Any cancellations made the week of travel will not be refunded.
Triple check your email address! This is how we’re sending you your tickets and all important information the day you leave. You’ll be receiving an envelope in the mail before you leave, so double check your mailing address, too.
The vast majority of our travel partners offer e-tickets. You will receive your e-ticket the day of departure by email. Some travel partners may require you to print your ticket at the airport. Where this is the case, Pack Up + Go will provide all necessary documents and details the day of departure by email. If you do not receive these documents, please contact Pack Up + Go as soon as possible. Please be sure to double check your email address when checking out!
We’ll let you know exactly how to pack - what checked bags you’re allowed, etc. If you’re a heavy packer, any extra fees are your responsibility.
Pack Up + Go sells products and services as an agent on behalf of airline, bus, and train carriers (Third Party Suppliers). Depending on your mode of transportation and transportation company, we’ll tell you exactly what you are getting one week prior to departure (one checked bag, only carry-on baggage, etc.) Pack Up + Go has no responsibility for products or services provided by any Third Party Suppliers that you purchase separately (extra checked bags, food or drinks on flight, etc.). We give and make no warranty or representation regarding the services or products supplied by Third Party Suppliers. Luggage and Baggage policies vary from carrier to carrier. One week prior to departure, you will be alerted by Pack Up + Go of any size and weight restrictions to which you must adhere. Should your baggage not comply with these restrictions, you will incur all additional charges.
Air Transportation Safety Compliance
Don’t bring any weapons on the plane. Please.
Important airline ticket terms and conditions and other important notices apply to air transportation. Federal law forbids the carriage of hazardous materials aboard aircraft in your luggage or on your person. A violation can result in five years' imprisonment and penalties of $250,000 or more (49 U.S.C. § 5124). Hazardous materials include explosives, compressed gases, flammable liquids and solids, oxidizers, poisons, corrosives and radioactive materials. Examples: Paints, lighter fluid, fireworks, tear gases, oxygen bottles, and radio-pharmaceuticals. There are special exceptions for small quantities (up to 70 ounces total) of medicinal and toilet articles carried in your luggage and certain smoking materials carried on your person. For further information contact your airline representative. Violation of these restrictions will result in imprisonment and financial penalties. Pack Up + Go will not be held liable for transgressions against air transportation requirements. Please refer to www.tsa.gov/travel for further details on prohibited items.
Follow the rules! Don’t smoke, don’t break anything, don’t steal. If you get kicked out, or charged for anything, we can’t help you there.
Note that your payment through Pack Up + Go covers your reservation fees. All additional fees incurred through incidentals (room service, late checkout, etc.) are to be paid by the customer. You may be asked to provide a credit or debit card at the time of check in. The hotel, bed & breakfast, or other accommodation may reserve the right to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the accommodation during your stay, or for any items that are missing upon departure. Incidentals and rates will vary by accommodation booking.
Customers are required to comply with all rules and regulations of the booked accommodation. Failure to do so may result in fees or expulsion from the hotel or bed & breakfast. Pack Up + Go will not be held liable for any additional fees incurred, or legal proceedings between the customer and accommodation.
Important Note – Conditions Beyond Our Control
There are some things that even we can’t control (natural disasters, food poisoning, etc.). If something goes seriously wrong, we can’t promise any full refunds. As always, just give us a call and we’ll see what we can do.
If there is an extreme weather situation, we’ll help you get sorted out and make sure you have a plan to get back home, but will not cover the additional expenses.
Compensation will not apply if a significant change is made for reasons beyond our control. These include: war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemics, health risks, changes due to rescheduling or cancellation of flights by an airline or alteration of the airline or aircraft type; closed or congested airports or ports; hurricanes and other actual or potential severe weather conditions, act of government or public authorities or other circumstances.
Pack Up + Go cannot accept liability or responsibility for any airline or supplier bankruptcy or insolvency and the failure to provide any services that may follow.
We’ve done our absolute best to make sure your accommodation and travel arrangements are top-notch. If you think they’re sub-par, let us know. Unfortunately, there are some things that are simply out of our control.
Pack Up + Go acts as an agent for independent travel suppliers, such as airlines, hotels and other independent suppliers to provide you with the services you purchase; and is represented in destination by companies organized and existing in that destination, including providers of transportation and excursions. We have taken all reasonable steps to ensure that proper arrangements have been made for your vacation. However, we do not accept and expressly disclaim any liability for the actions or omissions of these independent suppliers. If you find you have any dispute with such persons, however, we will give you as much reasonable help as we can in resolving a dispute.
You understand and agree that Pack Up + Go shall not be liable for any loss, injury, expense or damage to persons or property resulting, directly or indirectly, from the acts or omissions of these independent travel suppliers, including but not limited to delays, over bookings, cancellation of services, cessation of operations, accidents, failures of equipment, or changes in fares, itineraries or schedules.
Pack Up + Go cannot control and will not be responsible for bodily injury, property or other damage or loss caused by factors beyond our control, including but not limited to flight delays, airline turbulence, transportation accidents, war, terrorism, weather, quarantine, sickness, government restrictions, regulations or actions, mechanical breakdowns, fires, earthquakes, floods, climatic aberrations, acts of, civil unrest, strikes, riots, theft, disease or accidents, or failures related to the public internet, telecommunications lines or facilities, or third party technology systems, other unforeseen circumstances, or any other cause beyond our control, or including your physical, medical or mental disabilities, your failure to obtain valid travel documents or your failure to follow travel instructions. Under no circumstances shall Pack Up + Go be liable for any special, incidental or consequential damages arising from the foregoing.
Pack Up + Go, the airlines, bus, and train providers issue tickets and/or electronic documents covering transportation and hotel/accommodations. Neither Pack Up + Go nor these suppliers, or their respective subagents, shall be held liable for loss or damage to property or injury of person caused by reason of any act, omission, defect or negligence by any other hotel agency, transportation company or party providing such services or facilities.
All parties concerned are not liable for any claim arising out of or in connection with carriage or other services or features otherwise performed or occurring in connection with this package, except as provided in the conditions of carriage for the transportation company and the passenger tickets issued in conjunction with this package. Pack Up + Go is not responsible under any circumstances for any injury or damages you may suffer in connection with your air or ground transportation.
PAYMENTS, REFUNDS + RISK
Please note that any confirmed booking is subject to your credit card approval for the transaction.
Basically, refunds are not guaranteed.
Please note that any request for refunds is subject to these Terms & Conditions.
While we will consider refund requests on a case by case basis, we do not guarantee refunds for any reason. All requests for refunds must be submitted directly to Pack Up + Go. No refund will be made for package features the participant opts not to use. “No show” penalties could be up to 100% of the package or component costs. Any complaint or claim involving the vacation services booked through Pack Up + Go, involving the negligence of any transportation companies, or accommodations in relation to any service provided to the customer, must be notified to Pack Up + Go while on vacation or within 10 days of the trip completion. Any requests for refunds filed more than 10 days after returning from a trip will not be considered.
Safety + Personal Risk
Pack Up + Go is not responsible for injuries and damages that you may incur during the course of your trip, including but not limited to: injury or theft during travel by train, aircraft, bus or other means of transportation; forces of nature; political unrest; acts of lawlessness or terrorism; and accident or illness. By agreeing to participate in a Pack Up + Go trip you agree that you will hold Pack Up + Go harmless regarding any provision of medical care or the adequacy of any care rendered. Pack Up + Go is not responsible for such risks and dangers that may arise beyond our control. By agreeing to these terms & conditions, you accept these risks and dangers and agree to hold Pack Up + Go harmless for such.
Any claim or controversy that arises out of or relates to this agreement or the alleged breach of it, and which cannot be settled by the parties will be settled by submission to a local chapter of the American Arbitration Association, or a similar body, for binding non appealable arbitration in accordance with the current rules and procedures of such organization. The aggrieved party shall bring all grievance to arbitration in the state in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, regardless of the residence or principal place of business of either party. In the event a lawsuit or arbitration proceeding is initiated by either party, the party against whom a judgment or award is entered will also be liable for costs of suit and reasonable attorneys’ fees as set by the court or arbitrator.
The unauthorized use of any images on www.packupgo.com is forbidden. The images on the testimonials page are the sole property of the traveler, and may not be used by third parties without written consent.
You MUST contact firstname.lastname@example.org directly for any media inquiries, use of images or text. Failure to do so may result in legal action.
